Great White Egret

Seamer Road Mere, Scarborough
Great surprise to read on Scarborough Birders Facebook Page, that there was an Egret at Seamer Road Mere, especially when I'd been on a hunt for on at Campfield Marsh, Cumbria, last week on the route up to Scotland. Though it was spotted it was miles away and only visible through telescopes.
So a pleasure to see the Egret 5 minutes from home and showing so well and flying 500 yards or so from a roost to a reed area to feed.
How long it will stay is anyone's guess as it is mobbed all the time by Herons and Swans and dog walkers.
